Position summary
Save the Children has ten shops situated around the Perth metropolitan area. Funds raised through the sale of donated goods are used to support programs for underprivileged children locally. Our distribution centre receives the donations from the public. Our volunteer sorters examine donations and organise them into appropriate categories ready for pricing and distribution to the shops.

Monday to Saturday: 10am–3pm
Position Details
A Warehouse Sorting Assistant will be required to:

sort donations into 5 categories:
- goods for sale in the shops
- retro and designer merchandise
- rags (sold to a collection company)
- collectables including dolls, bears and toys
- rubbish - not suitable for sale

price merchandise

greet the general public at the front of the house and action point of sale processes

organise sorted donations for delivery to the shops

maintain a clean and tidy sorting area/distribution centre
Reporting to:
Community Engagement/Logistics and Visual Merchandising Coordinator
Essential skills and/or experience
We're looking for someone who:

is honest, reliable and punctual

has excellent organisational skills

has an interest in pre-loved goods or collectables

is interested in fashion

is able to work independently
Desired experience
Ideally you will have previous retail/opportunity shop experience
Training provided
Confirmed volunteers will be required to:

give permission for Save the Children to undertake a National Police Record Check and provide 100 points of identification

read and accept the Save the Children Volunteer Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
