For more than 20 years, Dr Krishnan has worked in health and humanitarian situations, often on frontlines where people struggle with disasters, military, terror and extreme weather events.
Trained as a physician at Madras University, a humanitarian worker at Geneva University and in conflict management at Selly Oak Colleges, Dr Krishnan has worked with some of the leading development and humanitarian agencies such as Oxfam, ActionAid, Plan International and Save the Children, and campaigners such as the People’s Health Movement.
He has provided strategic direction, led multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams, and managed large-scale humanitarian and health responses in complex settings, in over 40 countries. Dr Krishnan now heads up our Emergency Health Unit, which deploys frontline medical staff to serve children and families in need.
